How does the sponsorship system work?
Each sponsored child is enrolled in a project where donations are pooled in order to help both the sponsored child and his /her family. With less than 2 RON a day, you can become the sponsor of a child and change their life on the long run. The money you donate will be used according to the needs of the child and of the family.
How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
The child sponsorship is of minimum 60 RON per month. If you decide to donate at least 60 RON each month to help a child like Paul benefit from Community Centre support, you can do it through FRCCF, using the following means:

  • Sign a payment agreement with your bank. This means that each month, on the day you decide, the bank will transfer the amount you mention from your account to the FRCCF account (RO32BUCU644091102511RO09). Most banks use this payment system under various names: scheduled payment order, scheduled payments, planned transfer, etc.

  • Transfer the amount, monthly or quarterly, via payment order into the FRCCF account by the 10th of the running month.

  • Send the money through postal order to the address: FRCCF, str. Rene Descartes, nr. 6, Cluj-Napoca, 400486, Romania.

  • Pay the amount in cash, monthly or quarterly, at the FRCCF office’s cash desk and you will receive a donation receipt.


FAQ
Question: How often will I get news from the sponsored child?
Answer: As a sponsor, you will receive two messages per year (Easter and Christmas cards) from the sponsored child or someone writing on his/her behalf. In addition, you will be sent an annual project report in which the social worker will inform you about the latest developments in the project in which the child is enrolled

Q: Can I send gifts to the sponsored child?
A: FRCCF does not encourage you to send big, expensive gifts to the child as they can cause rivalry and envy among children. Therefore, we ask our sponsors who feel like sending something special to the child to make a small, light, inexpensive gift – like balloons, postcards, etc.

Q: Can I send extra financial aid?
A: Some of our sponsors send extra financial aid to the sponsored child. These extra contributions are most welcome because they give us the chance to give more to the children. All donations are pooled into one account and used to benefit as many children as possible.

You can donate extra financial aids into the FRCCF account or directly at the FRCCF office.

Q: How long will my sponsorship last?
A: You can sponsor a child indefinitely as long as the child is enrolled in one of our projects and if your or the child’s situation doesn’t change. Generally, a child stays in a project until he/she finishes high school, at the age of 18.

Q: Can I choose the child I want to sponsor?
A: Although the choice is yours, we prefer that you let us decide. Still, if you are greatly attached to a particular child group, please specify this on the form. You can also choose to sponsor a boy or a girl.


Q: Is child sponsorship the only means to help FRCCF-assisted children?
